Southwater Royals Girls Striding Ahead

Superb games for our Under 10’s, 11’s and 13's today against Hangleton, Lewes and Chichester respectively. Loads of goals scored across the 3 matches, with one of the girls scoring a fabulous 5 goals!

After the U10's game against Hangelton, Gary OBrien couldnt hide his pride and excitement;

"They all deserved the golden boots today! Well done girls a great performance from all of them. They’ve worked so hard recently and fantastic to see it all come together today. Five goals each from 2 of the girls, a first goal for another and penalty save from the keeper! Well done to a well deserved player of the match today - great tackling, running with the ball and passing. A really enjoyable morning down in misty and drizzly Hove.

Thanks to all the parents who braved the conditions today, as your support and encouragement for the girls is great"

Whilst the U11's played the first of 5 games in the Spring Trophy, Simon Hulcoop, U11 Manager was proud of how the girls played this morning;

"A big thank you to everyone that braved the rain and wind to support the girls at Lewes this morning. They battled so hard and all played their part. GM scored with her 1st touch and then a 2nd goal, captain EC scored a great solo goal and Lewes scored an own goal from player of the match PCG’s corner. It ended with both teams teams sharing the points with a last gasp goal for them but there won’t be many teams that go there and get a draw! The girls should be very proud of the gameplay this morning, and be proud of what they achieved today, we’re back next week at home to Bognor. And don’t forget we have still only lost 1 60 minute game since September.....that’s amazing".

And not to be left on the subs bench, Paul Showell, U13's Girls Team Manager confirmed another outstanding performance form the girls;

"A superb 3-0 win for the 13’s today, against a strong Chichester side. Another hat-trick from Shiv earned her the POTM award, but all 12 players were fantastic. Great to see 2 goals coming from playing out from the back and between the lines, just like we’ve worked on in training"!

Well done to both our teams, and their opponents who more than played their parts in 2 great games.
