On Saturday 8th August is was all hands on deck for the launch of Southwaters only FA Certified Wildcats Girls Football Centre.
Specifically set up after the club were approached by Sussex FA, U5 - U11 girls were welcomed to the Southwater Leisure Centre for our first ever Wildcats coaching session!
With 20 new Wildcats due to arrive, Simon Hulcoop, Head Coach for Wildcats was up early with Andy New, Chairman and Yvonne his wife and our U7 Pre League Head Coach Andy Simon ready to great our new younger members of the Royals Family.
Once everyone had settled in and registered with Andy and Yvonne following the "new norm that is COVID19", we were off! First thing on the agenda was for our Wildcats to meet some of our existing girls team players, who were there to offer support and a reassuring smile for the new players.
Simon Hulcoop and Andy Simon coached in 2 groups, with 3 different areas set up. The girls loved the obstacle course with a shot at a mini goal at the end and the parents were cheering every time they scored!!
Si Hulcoop took 9 x 5-6 year olds and Andy took 8 x 7-10 year olds, giving everyone an opportunity to relax and really enjoy there first introduction to football. With the weather on our side, plenty of drink breaks were the order of the morning.
So now its on to next Saturday, 9.30 at Southwater Leisure Centre for another enjoyable and encouraging session, where all the girls will get to see there new friends again.
