Southwater Royals Committee is looking for volunteers to fill the role of Child Welfare Officer.

POST DETAILS


TITLE Child Welfare Officer


JOB PURPOSE


To oversee the welfare and protection of children enrolled on the club membership list and all children involved in sport.


This person must attend the FA Child Protection and Best Practice Course and The FA Designated Persons for Child Protection/Welfare in Sports Organisation Course.


Both courses are held during an evening and last approximately 3 hours.

The Child Welfare Officer must also attend any other courses as specified by the Sussex FA Child Welfare Officer.


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES


Provide first point of contact for anyone in the club who has a concern about a child’s welfare and/or concerns about any adults working with children and/or poor club procedures/practices.

Review and implement clubs child protection policy with the managing committee.


Advise committee on best practice for safeguarding children and youths in football as determined by the FA.


Maintain confidential and secure records about any alleged poor practice or abuse and retain records of all CRB checks and related enquiries made of adult helpers.


Ensure all adult helpers comply with CRB check requirements and track submitted forms with CRB unit updating records as necessary.

To investigate any complaints/accusations of abuse or poor practice and report the matter to the relevant authorities and liaise with the relevant authorities where required.
