U8's Smash & Grab With Sussex Police Support Scheme

Its full steam ahead for our U8's this season. With 2 new sponsors, CJE Decor and Seaspace International joining them and a new season playing in the HDYFL for the first time.

The Royals U8 boys travelled to the Holbrook Club on Saturday looking forward to a fun filled morning of football for a charity tournament, helping to raise money for Sarcoma UK. With changeable weather on the horizon, umbrellas at the ready. It was the first time the team had entered a tournament and the boys were super excited!

There was another reason for the boys to try and play well today, Iain (U8's Assistant Manager) and Tamsin Macnab (U11 Girls Team Rep) secured some much needed funding from Sussex Police, whom they both work for. Iain explains;

"The Sussex Police Property Act Fund is made up of monies received by the police from the sale of found property and from property confiscated by order of court and then sold. The main aim of the fund is to support local projects undertaken by voluntary/charitable organisations that solely benefit the communities of Sussex.

This month, Sussex Police kindly awarded a charitable donation of £500 to Southwater Royals Football Club, to support our ongoing work in the community".

So with it all to play for, the boys weren't looking to take any prisoners!

Having played 4 games of 15 minutes in total, working well as a team, with some great individual passes, we came out on top, scoring an impressive total of 28 goals, whilst only conceding 3!

It was their first ever tournament, and they showed a huge improvement on where they finished off last season. They all received medals for finishing on top and now they can’t wait to get going in their first full season!

Well played boys!

As special thank you from all the Committee to Iain and Tamsin Macnab for all your support and securing the additional support from Sussex Police.
