Its been an amazing year for Southwater Royals FC and our amazing Southwater Royals FC Girls Teams have really grown, shown and lead the way forwards!
This week alone, we had over 50 girls attend our open coaching sessions, held by our passionate FA Qualified team.
Today, we are delighted to announce:
Congratulations to our girls who won their first ever bit of silverware! Ending their first season on a deserved high after a great first year.
We won today's Lewes tournament, beating Eastbourne 4-2 on penalties, after drawing 1-1 in normal time. Bit of payback for us after Eastbourne beat us twice this season on penalties!
Both our teams were superb, finishing 1st and 2nd in their groups respectively out of 6 teams, but unfortunately ended up playing each other in the semi-final. 0-0 draw in normal time and the reds beat the blues 3-2 in a tense penalty shootout.
Really pleased for all the girls who played this season, not just today’s winning team, but all involved. They’ve worked so hard all year and come so close on so many occasions, now they’ve got something to show for it!
